At a Loss...

For words!  The layout I made for week #4 over at Log Your Memory was chosen as the layout of the week for the challenge!  Seriously, I'm so humbled because there were so many good layouts this week - WOW!

Here's the blog post from Kristin:
Log Your Memory

Happy  Scrapping,

Holy cool hybrid project batman!

This is going to knock your socks OFF!  If you want a really cool and fairly easy
hybrid project to do, this is it!  It's from Krisi's Kreations and it's a
Matchbook Album.  You can find it here:  Matchbook Albums at Scrap Matters.
It comes with three different sized printable templates.  I made the 4x4
matchbook.  I made a little album for Nathan to look through when we're
in the car that lists numbers and how they are spelled.
You should really head over to Scrap Matters and see what the other CT members
made with this - I had to pick my jaw off of the floor!

Happy Scrapping everyone!

New from Krisi's Kreations!

Wow, Krisi has some really cool new templates for you over at Scrap Matters
today! The first is Label Me Up: Bottles and More. If you like to give wine
bottles or other bottled items away as gifts this is the perfect way to personalize
them! She also has Label Me Up: Water available today. I think this
would be a super idea for a birthday party favor or in my case, a great
stress reliever for a friend. I took a water bottle and filled it up with
some glitter. I added some tape to the top of the bottle so it can't come
off, added my label and voila - a cool little relaxational item!

Happy Scrapping everyone!

The Winter Sickies

I am beginning to think it's going to be a yearly event on or around January
15th (Chris' birthday) - someone is going to be throwing up in our house.
It was like that last year and yet again this year....I'm hoping next year
won't be the same!!!

I have been slowly getting back into making things and layouts.  I just
wanted to share the cutest little "purse" album I made for Nathan.  It's
a little album made from baseball card holders.  I used photo paper to
print off the pictures, punched some holes in the side with my Big Bite,
and secured it with ribbon.  I showed it to him this morning (after a
long night for him of being sick) and I got the biggest hug and thank
you.  He loves it!  It's for my January Portfolio at Sweet Shoppe Designs.
Credits are in the link below the photo.

Off now to go fold laundry.  Yippee.
Happy Scrapping!

Layout time

So if you didn't already know, I'm a huge fan of Sweet Shoppe Designs.  Well,
they kicked off 2010 with a new challenge system - it's called
Sweet Shoppe Porfolio.  It's got a ton of inspiring ideas to get you
scrapping.  For each one you do you get a certain amount of points.
Points earned are good towards a discount to the store.  The best
part is that you get to pick what challenges inspire you!  I really like it.
I have 18 points so far this month.

I'm also participating in Log Your Memory.  I have the bound version
of the book.  I can record every day moments and such to later 'jog my
 memory' and help me scrap.

Here are some of my layouts from the past month (it's been awhile since
I shared any - so there are quite a few!):

Template by Elizabeth for the Dec. Template Challenge at Dani Mogstad's
blog, Dani Mogstad - Softly Falling

This one was my top 10 songs in 2009.

Eva Kipler It's All Good, Kristin Cronin-Barrow Rugged
Kristin Cronin-Barrow Mayberry, Sir Scrapalot Journalers - altered color
Nixon Freebie - Summer Joy,
The DigiChick - Every Life has a Story - altered color

This layout is for my "Book of Me."  I can't wait to see what it looks like
at the end of the year.

Traci Reed Hip to Be, Kristin Cronin-Barrow Daydream Believer

I used one of my most favorite KCB kits - Daydream Believer on this one!  It's
another page for my Book of Me.

Kristin Cronin-Barrow -Daydream Believer
Kristin Cronin-Barrow - My Happy Garden alpha (recolored)
Down This Road Designs - Cozy Comforts Alpha
Sandy Text HMK
Pea Carmen

I really loved creating this page - it was so much fun!  And if you know me, I love
my Nascar!

Journaling reads: There would be no stopping me. As soon as the green flag drops I'd be off. I'd pass you sitting in the stands or the infield faster than you could say "Jimmie's reign is over!" The checkered flag would be mine. My driver would even do a flip instead of a burnout, baby!
Christy Lyle Big Wheels Kit

Misty Cato Look at Me Kit - green paper

Kristin Cronin-Barrow Daydream Believer - sparkles

This layout was if I could live anywhere, it would be.... Another layout for my
Book of Me.  This has been probably one of the most fun layouts I have had
designing in a long time!

Eva Kipler - It's All Good, Misty Cato - Shabby Orchard
Traci Reed - Bad Sewing Machine Basics, SF Anita

This layout was for a Log your Memory challenge.  I decided to scrap about
a favorite inspirational quote.

Lauren Grier - That Love Thing
Down This Road Designs - Text Path

Journaling read:

I saw this little saying one day when I opened a snack-sized box of raisins for Anthony. I had never heard it before and immediately wrote it down. I look back at it occasionally, especially when I need a reminder that feeling good about myself will make those around me feel good too. If they know I do my best and try my hardest, they too will do the same. Back in 2007, I lost about 30 pounds. I remember feeling like I was on top of the world. I know that Chris was very proud of me. Unfortunately, I gained all of it back and then some when I was pregnant with Anthony. I have been struggling to lose the weight over the last year and a half. I look back to this little raisin box thought on occasion to remind myself that if I try my hardest, I know that one day (hopefully sooner than later) I’ll feel that same “on top of the world” feeling I felt a few years ago.

This layout will be fun to look at in a few years and see how my thoughts
have changed throughout the day.

Kristin Cronin-Barrow – “in” alpha, notebook paper – All About Him
Kristin Cronin-Barrow – “day” alpha – Mayberry
Kristin Cronin- Barrow – “thoughts” alpha, dirt spill – Rugged
Kristin Cronin-Barrow – fly – Party Out Back
Libby Weifenbach – “A” alpha – I just wanna be okay
Julie Billingsley – Background paper, blue frame, snowflakes – Frost Bite
Mandabean – Stressed Out Date Stamp
The DigiChick – paper people – Every Life has a Story
Fee Jardine – “what” tag , squiggly arrow – As If
Misty Cato – watercolor spills
Melissa Bennett – boy tag – Boy Crazy
Haynay Abboy freebie off internet – Sleep tight word art
Eva Kipler – beautiful life tag, pin – It’s All Good
Font SF Jackie

I have been waiting for an opportunity to scrap these photos from 2006!

Lauren Grier - That Love Thing
Misty Cato - Check 123
Font SF Jackie
Traveling Typewriter

Lastly, this page is going to be fun to look at too - it's part of the portfolio
challenge and every month we get to scrap what it looks like outside from
the same perspective/view.  I love seeing the seasons change.

Dani Mogstad - Chill Out

Oh and one more thing - I saw a link to Sugar Frog Fonts late last week and had to check it out.  Your handwriting made into a font for you for FREE.  I love FREE stuff.  Did I say it was FREE?  Anyway, I had mine made and you can go HERE to download my font!   It's SF Jackie.  :) :)

So anyway, thanks for looking.  Happy Scrapping!

Sunday Standout!

I have to admit that I was not in the greatest of moods before I saw the
Sweet Shoppe blog this afternoon.  I'm so ready for my hubby to be home
- it's been a very long weekend without him.  Now that I surfed on over
though I am in a great mood!  Did you see my Christmas Countdown
calendar?

Happy Scrapping!

Snow, snow, and some more snow!

The snow started yesterday afternoon around 1:30 and didn't stop
until after I went to bed last night (and I went to bed at midnight).
All in all, we probably got about 5-7 inches of snow.  It's cold out
too - I have slippers on and my feet are still cold!  Tell me why I live
in Michigan?  Anthony loved watching the snow fall yesterday.
I caught him a couple times just looking out the windows at it.

Thankfully, school was not cancelled.  Nathan really enjoys going to
preschool (and so do I!).  I did have some fun though on the way
to school - I am driving hubby's car for the weekend and I'm not
used to driving it in snow.  It was a little different than my van.
I am also thankful I don't have to go anywhere else today - hopefully
 the streets will plowed soon!

Hubby is gone this weekend to the Detroit area for a curling event.
If you don't know what curling is, check this out:  US Curling.  It rocks.
Ha, just had to say that.  So......that means tonight after the boys go
to bed I'll have the entire house to myself to do whatever I want to
do.  I may just turn on some music and scrap my little heart away!
Of course, after I do Jillian Michael's 30 day Shred.  I will be doing
Day 6, level 3.

I hear someone waking from their nap....time to wrap this up!

New Release from Down This Road Designs

I was very excited to use this new kit from Down This Road Designs called
Midnight Kiss.  Doesn't it just have the most beautiful colors?  Not only would
it work great with your New Years Eve photos but wedding photos as well.
In fact, I used a wedding photo for the layout I made.

Here is a layout I made with the kit:

And some fun little noisemakers I made for my boys out of toilet paper rolls, masking
tape, the digital papers, and rice.

You can find the kit HERE.

Happy Scrapping,
